We hold seven business meetings each year and these comprise of:-
1. Coffee and biscuits on arrival and chance for a brief chat
2. Business meeting including time for Members Forum - usually a lively debate.
4. Social golf in the afternoon - nice but not essential if you need to get back to work.
It is normal to have guest speakers for the meetings and a wide range of topics are covered including:-
Health & Safety, VAT, Employment Laws, Pension Schemes, General Club Administration etc.
There is also the opportunity to meet your local Managers to discuss any relevant issues and it is a natural forum for exchange of ideas.
In addition there are team matches against the Midlands and Yorkshire Regions and also the British & International Golf Greenkeepers Association.
One of our members carries out a regional survey covering all aspects of golf club administration
Green fees, wages/salaries, income/expenditure for all committees, subscriptions and entry fees, staff levels and much more.
If you would like more information or are interested in joining then please make contact at the above address/telephone number.
Our current yearly subscription fee is £28 and is included in the invoice for your GCMA membership from HQ in Weston-super-Mare.
In the North West we have nearly 200 members and I can assure you of a very warm welcome to our popular well attended meetings.
