On Monday 24th October staff were leaving Blackley Golf Club at 1045pm when they passed a car entering the club that contained 4 occupants in balaclavas, the car was described as a small scruffy hatchback, no incident occurred but it was reported to Police as a suspicious incident .
On 29th October following a function at 1am the club suffered an armed robbery when staff member was attacked outside the club by 4 men in balaclavas, and forced to reopen the premises and give access to the bar office. A large amount of cash was stolen and the staff member suffered cuts and bruises.
On Sunday 6th November another robbery took place when staff were locking up at Brookdale Golf Club in Failsworth, this offence was much more violent and a smaller amount of cash was taken, again the offenders were wearing balaclavas.
Overnight on Sunday 13th November Blackley suffered a break in through the roof, offenders again got access to the bar office and stole cash and a large amount of spirits.
Lancashire Union Of Golf Clubs would like to remind all clubs to be extra vigilant at this time, be more aware of suspicious vehicles and visitors that seem out the norm for your club.

House Manager was balancing the till
Players in Charity Day has just left
Balcony window was smashed and 4 masked/gloved men entered
They threatened House Manager and left with the contents of the safe and the till
Our main concern is for our House Manager. He is shaken, physically unhurt and seems ok
We have some CCTV
If you have been robbed, your CCTV may well be useful – please let me know by return email
Please advise other local clubs and be vigilant.
